Not quite as intense as some of the other episodes, this episode of The Haunted Museum was a bit slow.
The introduction was sanguine at best. The protagonist finds a Halloween ritual coffee from another man. The protagonist has nightmares about killing and sacrificing on behalf of the coffin — or rather the children. Not quite as strange as the previous episode The Stone Face, this episode was a bit dry and predictable. The coffin was based on Halloween lore of old, and children from the past visit the protagonist on Halloween. These children would sacrifice others, and a man would obtain the coffin, “untouched from the flames.” This “untouched from flames” may be related to The Crying Boy painting. The coffin is cursed, and both men have the curse due to opening the Halloween ritual coffin. Finally, another person steals the coffin, and the curse is removed from both men. However, it is passed to another. This episode lacked the intensity of some of the other episodes. The inclusion of Halloween history may intrigue some, but it may lack the intrigue for others. Overall, it lacked the impact of some of the other episodes. This episode was average.
