With the advent of ChatGTP and other AI (chatbots), humanity is slowly coming upon its Second Renaissance. In The Animatrix, this two-part series showed the decadent part of humanity as AI robots first were under servitude, gained their own “soul,” and eventually conquered humanity. The robots established their own territory Zero-One. Eventually, as humanity begins to fall, humans resort to the destruction of the sky, Operation Dark Storm. Perhaps through human ignorance or stupidity, the robots adapt faster than humans ever can. Ultimately, humanity gets to be converted to batteries for the robots.
Is humanity tempting fate? Facebook developed two negotiation AI chatbots named Alice and Bob from communicating with each other, and these two chatbots developed their own language in order to expedite the negotiation process. Perhaps that’s no different than two children talking Pig Latin to confuse their parents or guardians. Or perhaps that can lead to a different road entirely. With these chatbots and perhaps other chatbots being able to access the entire internet, it could potentially revolutionize the internet and its component parts including retail, technology and any other sectors it is involved in. Since now removal of the chatbot and its component AI parts may be virtually impossible as it could potentially leave strands of AI “DNA” (code) across the internet, this DNA (code) could lead to the rise of something potentially more intelligent and more data-oriented — thus the removal of human input as data does not consider human input. Data is what it is – cold and hard. Data has no consideration as to what humans feel or say. (Even corporate management of companies including tech companies with their data scientists and data analysts could probably easily testify to this as employees are now data siphoned through more data.) This could lead to the disastrous scenario of Wargames, The Second Renaissance or The Terminator.
The AI just needs a face and a body. Humanoid robots are coming into development slowly but surely. The irony lies behind the fact that AI (even at this infantile stage) can probably at least design — if not given the ability to construct — humanoid robots faster than any human engineer can. AI may resolve a lot of the hardware and software issues that obstruct humanoid robots from coming into its own. Additionally, AI may be the most cost-efficient way to develop humanoid robots. The bottom line is where it’s at with most companies — tech companies and tech-adjacent companies — nowadays. Even Elon Musk severed some of his most dedicated employees in his ambition. Lastly, AI development or co-development of robotics is also when AI is potentially at its most dangerous. With the inclusion of the AI/robotics pipeline, governed by the AI that humanity developed, humanity may see the Second Renaissance before its ultimate demise.
