Plot
Happy Hank the Very Happy Clown becomes unemployed and contemplates and ultimately commits suicide. On one side, Happy Hank sees angels in the community. On the other, he sees his community burn. In the end, children — and the community — lose out on a pivotal person in their lives as the children watch him.
Review
For a comic, suicide is a deep topic. Happy Hank the Very Happy Clown, however, resembles quite a lot of us. At some point, we have been laid off or know someone who has. It’s a step into the unknown. The comic is relatively fast moving and ironic in the latter parts as Hank is oblivious as he sees the town torched and in shambles. In the end, Happy Hank sees both sides of the community and smiles in the literal end.
Verdict (Out of 10)
This comic deserves a solid 8.5 out of 10. Fringe Fiction applauds for discussing the mature topic of suicide, a taboo topic for some but necessary for all.
