ROM No. 1 Facsimile Edition Variant Cover

Plot

ROM, the Greatest of the Spaceknights, arrive on Earth and encounters a woman named Brandy Clark on a highway, almost killing her. However, ROM is seeking an evil in the form of dire wraithes in the town of Clairton. He meets two of them and kills them instantly, causing an uproar in the town of Clairton. Almost instantly, the National Guard is mobilized to stop the robot, but ROM is not a robot but a man integrated into a robotic suit — not quite robot, not quite human but something in between.

Review

Definitely some intriguing element with some hints of Star Trek involving Khan. At the end though, Fringe Fiction was duly satisfied for a vintage comic. The chest-thumping elements are a bit over the top, particularly involving the Mayor and the National Guard.

Verdict (Out of 10)

Fringe Fiction gives this comic a 7.6 out of 10. The nostalgic elements are a nice addition to a decent vintage science fiction comic.
