CrowdStrike x Microsoft Outage: Day 4

Per CrowdStrike, it appears that some of the systems are back up and running, but it is still resolving issues. Meanwhile, many of the systems are still down. Microsoft has given their fix to this issue, but bear in mind, this is per individual computer. In a business, even for a small one, it could range upwards of 50 to 100 computers. That’s 15 to 30 minutes (not considering other issues for this fix) times 100 computers which equates to about 13 to 25 hours worth of IT work minimally (and in terms of companies, wasted time.) Multiple issues are afoot as well. Hackers are attempting to take advantage of the situation, and Microsoft has blamed EU regulations for CrowdStrike’s problems.

Fringe Fiction thinks governments will tighten their regulations further in an effort to prevent this from happening again. But the fix may be more damaging than the cure, particularly when some governments are involved.
