Grimm Spotlight: Gretel Bloody Mary Comic Book Review [SPOILERS]

Plot

In Nashua, New Hampshire, there was a Funtown Amusement Park that was the place to be during 1941 until accidental deaths caused the decline in sales and ultimate closure of the park. In the modern day, a group of children are sneaking into the abandoned amusement park, and one child, Billy, wanders into the Hall of Mirrors when he is abducted by Bloody Mary. Elsewhere, Gretel and Calibar stop a witch from roasting a group of children. After the quick resolution, Gretel and Calibar are on the track of Cole when the group of children from earlier stop them. Gretel and Calibar encounter Bloody Mary, and Bloody Mary captures Calibar. Gretel is transported into the past where she encounters Bloody Mary as a child. After the encounter, Gretel faces off with Bloody Mary and resolves the issue and brings back Calibar and the lost children.

Review

Intriguing, self-contained story but kind of lacking in that there wasn’t a satisfying conclusion for Mary herself. Although a villain in the Grimm Universe, she is still trapped in the mirror without resolve.

Verdict (Out of 10)

Fringe Fiction gives this comic a 6.9 out of 10. Solid and entertaining but some flaws. Enjoy your Hallow’s Eve!
