After this windy and cold day, Fringe Fiction watched two movies: The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Cthulu.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie was fairly entertaining and paid tribute to several of the Mario video games. It also tried to break the stereotypes of Mario, his brother Luigi and the Princess as well and attempted to modernize it in Fringe Fiction’s opinion. Overall, a fairly solid movie worth a watch.

Cthulu was a bit slow, artsy and predictable. Some of the drama and suspense seemed forced. The cinematography was quite good. It’s watchable for its artistic merit but not very good.
