Fringe Fiction Goes to the Movies #fringefiction #frifi #movies #moviereviews #blackphone #blackphone2 #jurassicworld #jurassicworldrebirth #socialmedia

On this cloudy and cold weekend in Philadelphia, Fringe Fiction did get to watch a couple of movies: Black Phone 2 and Jurassic World: Rebirth. Both are watchable but not particularly noteworthy.

Black Phone 2 follows the events of the original Black Phone whereby Finney Blake escaped from the Grabber. This film is an artsy follow-up to the original. Gwen, Finney’s sister, has dreams of what happened at Alpine Lake Camp and soon they encounter ghosts. Overall, not as intense as the first with more of an artistic side with a tribute to older horror films.

Jurassic World: Rebirth is a film worth watching but not beyond that. The film has finally lost the charm of the original Jurassic Park and needs to settle a bit. The dinosaurs look phenomenal, but the action is predictable and the characters not particularly memorable. Overall, this movie is worth a watch but nothing more.
