Fringe Fiction Goes to the Movies #fringefiction #frifi #movies #moviereviews #socialmedia #bloodychainsawgirl #bloodychainsawgirlreturns #revengeofnero #gikoawakens #japanese #j-horror #giko #nero

On this sunny and surprisingly pleasant day in Philadelphia, Fringe Fiction watched three Japanese pulp horror movies: Bloody Chainsaw Girl, Bloody Chainsaw Girl Returns: Giko Awakens and Bloody Chainsaw Girl Returns: The Revenge of Nero. All three are fun films to watch and recommend if you’re in need of a pulp fix.

Bloody Chainsaw Girl is about Giko Nokomoura fighting off mutant zombies on her way to school. This film is definitely pulp and lighthearted. Giko learns about her classmates along the way and befriends some of them as well. A fun movie to watch, particularly on this pleasant spring day in Philadelphia.

Bloody Chainsaw Girl Returns: Revenge of Nero is the first part. This part is watchable and relatively tame as it sets up for the second part, Bloody Chainsaw Girl Returns: Giko Awakens.

Bloody Chainsaw Girl: Giko Awakens is definitely the better of the two parts. The action and pulp escalates tremendously with a great finale that is a reprisal of sorts. Fringe Fiction won’t spoil it here. Of the two, the second is definitely worth a watch.
