Fringe Fiction Goes to the Movies #fringefiction #frifi #movies #moviereviews #theghoststation #ghosttrain #korean #foreign #socialmedia

Over this cold and sunny weekend in Philadelphia, today we watched a couple of Korean horror films: The Ghost Station and Ghost Train. Both are worthy of watch, but both include mostly jump-scares.

The Ghost Station involves a reporter investigating the incidents at Oksu Station and uncovers its secrets. The film did have its moments of horror. Incidentally, it fell flat toward the end of the movie in Fringe Fiction’s opinion. The ending was executed decently but could’ve been done better (without the need for exposition). Overall, it’s worth a watch but perhaps not a second.

Ghost Train involved a Youtuber entering discussion with the stationmaster about the mysterious happenings at  Gwanglim Station and the movie involves multiple stories throughout. This movie has to be the most intriguing of the two as some of the ghost stories had a moral ending. Fringe Fiction won’t spoil it here. In Fringe Fiction’s opinion, this may be the better of the two movies. However, the international reception of this movie was far less.

What movies did you watch this weekend? If so, do you recommend any? Please feel free to comment below.
