Plot

This comic is preview of Shadowman Darque Legacy and X-O Manowar. In Shadowman Darque Legacy, Jack followed his father, Josiah Boniface, as he was about to be consumed by a monster. However, his father passed an amulet to him. Little did he know until much later on that he himself carries the legacy of Shadowman. In X-O Manowar, it is an origin story of sorts for X-O Manowar.

Review

Of the two tales, Shadowman Darque Legacy seemed the most complete. X-O Manowar covered a few pages but not much was explained in terms of character or direction of the story. The comic also include a couple of interviews by the creators of each character, Bob Hall of Shadowman and Michael W. Conrad and Becky Cloonan of X-O Manowar. They were interesting to read. The last part includes a preview of the video game Shadowman Darque Legacy coming in 2026. The art style and direction seems intriguing, a bit of Silent Hill and a bit of Evil Within.

Verdict (Out of 10)

Fringe Fiction gives this comic a 7.1 out of 10. Shadowman was definitely the better of the two tales, and the video game preview suggests more of Shadowman is coming.
