Fringe Fiction Goes to the Movies #fringefiction #frifi #movies #moviereviews #scream #screamvi #kraven #kraventhehunter #socialmedia

On this yet another sunny and almost perfect day in Philadelphia, Fringe Fiction did watch a couple of more movies over the weekend. We watched Scream VI and Kraven the Hunter. Both had potential but ultimately were passable and palatable to watch.

Scream VI had an intriguing beginning and paid tribute to the past movies in the series. However, the movie kind of lost its way in Fringe Fiction’s opinion. The movie villains once unmasked weren’t intriguing, and the introduction of Hayden Panettiere as Kirby Reed as an FBI agent definitely didn’t help. This movie had quite a lot going for it, but it’s worth a watch if you’re a fan of the Scream franchise.

Kraven the Hunter had lots of potential, but most of it is wasted. The antagonist Rhino was perhaps the most interesting character in the entire movie. Although his flaw was obvious (and most of the other characters’ strengths and flaws were portrayed as obvious as well), Rhino portrayed by Alessandro Nivola was quite good. Some of the latter action sequences involving Kraven were good as well — particularly during the chase scene in the city. This movie wasn’t quite as bad as some say, but it definitely needs some improvement. This movie is worth a watch somewhat but with some reservations.
