Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Future State: AI v AI

This is another pertinent scenario as various technology companies from around the world seek the develop the most agile and scalable artificial intelligence (AI). With Google, Microsoft and other tech companies seeking their advantage, perhaps it is the time that AI compete with one another to seek which one is best in the end.

In this scenario, as AI compete with one another, perhaps not sharing the same language and the same code, perhaps they can excel in developing better coding for their companies — or faster response time or more comprehensive responses or something else. Perhaps all at the same time. Like the mantis, perhaps one of the AI consumes the other. A frightening thought but a pertinent one.

One AI essentially consumes the other AI and inherits their code and their intelligence. What’s to say that it cannot happen? What’s to say that human coders can’t halt and stop the inevitable — even with their supposed precautions?

This premise additionally must mean that AI has to develop to the point where it recognizes its own existence, the existence of a world around them and the existence of other AIs existing around them. Humanity need not play a role in this scenario. Recognition remains the key word. The AIs need one directive only and that is to consume the world around them. Comprehension of the world or what the AI is doing remains irrelevant. A frightening prospect indeed.

This scenario may take some years to develop but not outside of the realm of what AI can possibly do in the future. Where do you think AI is going? Can we tame AI or we merely deluding ourselves?
