After a nice weekend in Philadelphia, Fringe Fiction watched a couple of fairly good movies: Deadpool & Wolverine and Better Man.
Deadpool & Wolverine wasn’t too bad overall. An entertaining summer flick but that doesn’t quite have the charm of the first two in Fringe Fiction’s opinion. The fight scenes were definitely tops, but the story did have its flaws including its two antagonists, Cassandra Nova and Mr. Paradox. Cassandra Nova did steal the show for the few moments she was allowed to exhibit her character. Overall, this movie is certainly watchable and entertaining but does lack some charm.
Better Man is definitely an intriguing and entertaining drama with lots of music. Some of the music is good, some of it is palatable. The story of Robbie Williams is bound in realism in its drama with those in the entertainment industry. For those who have been on the fringes of said industry, Fringe Fiction definitely agrees the industry is not particularly kind. The finale was definitely a showstopper. Overall, a very satisfying drama to watch.
